The “Home is…” photo campaign centers stories in the international community and occurs every spring. Through this campaign, we hope to shed light on the complex and diverse relationships that international students have with their home countries and with the U.S. As we collect and share stories of students from around the world, we hope to draw on each other’s experiences, build a more tight-knit international community, and challenge homogenizing stereotypes. We request the broader campus community to engage with the stories respectfully and constructively, keeping in mind that many spaces and dialogues on campus are U.S.-centric, and that, as a result, international students often have fewer avenues to process their feelings and positionalities in the U.S.
